New Board Elected

The MACM Board for 2010 has been elected; President, Julie Vredeveld; Vice President, Trecey Stieb; Secretary, Cara Lemmen;Treasurer, Alan Zoltowski. Rounding out the rest of the board we have Eugenia Patru, Victoria Rupert, Jeffrey Higgs, Dave DiStefano and Kathleen Doan. We are already in preparation for next years conference scheduled for September 15th-17th, 2010 again at the Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa. Stay tuned. (2010 Board Pictured Below) The MACM Board also said goodbye to Eliza Callow, who stepped down after being an active Board Member and Treasurer for over a decade. We'll miss you Eliza. 2009 MACM Advanced Mediation Training Conference

Crystal Mountain Resort
September 16th to 18th, 2009

MACM was able to negotiate a rate with Crystal Mountain Resort which will allow us to use their facilities for our conference without increasing the cost of the conference for our membership. In addition, Crystal will provide conference attendees with special low rates for golf and for use of its new spa services as well as special low lodging rates both before and after the conference. The Board is excited about this new opportunity, and we wanted to let you know about the change in location and dates right away. Additional conference information will be coming soon. Bowers v VanderMeulen-Bowers

This State of Michigan Court of Appeals Decision published on March 25, 2008 addresses the 100-Mile Limit Under MCL 722.31. The decision affirmed that when deciding whether it is in a child's best interest to change his/her legal residence by more than 100 miles; miles means radial (the distance between two points on a map) miles as opposed to road (the distance as measured along an available route of travel) miles.
